A Willow Pleasure!

I was out quite early where the hope was to find some Willow Emerald Damselflies as there have been quite a few seen over the past week already. I don't often see the Nethergong Willows until the second week of July but thought with the current hot weather, that they might emerge earlier. I started my search of the long grasses next to the stream around 07:00 where it was already quite warm. I spent an hour or so searching quite thoroughly and only manged to find 1 Willow Emerald Damselfly. I would imagine a few more would have been found if I had given it longer but no doubt in the next few weeks, a good number should emerge. I also found a few Blue tailed Damselfly, 1 Emerald Damselfly, 1 Azure Damselfly, 1 Black tailed Skimmer and 2 Norfolk Hawker were disturbed from the grasses. I spent a while with the Willow Emerald Damselfly taking a few photos but the light was quite harsh. Still, always a pleasure to see my first of the season and hopefully many more photo opportunities to come.

    1. Many thanks Pete. I'm not sure why I'm running 3 blogs at the moment...madness. Something will have to give soon. It's too much I think. Take care.
