Kent has to be one of the top counties in the country to see a wide range of dragonflies and damselflies throughout the year. It hosts a number of common, scarce and rare species such as Dainty Damselfly, Southern Emerald Damselfly, Norfolk Hawker, Southern Migrant Hawker, Scarce Chaser and Red veined Darter to name a few.
NEW for 2025, I will be offering private Dragonfly trips for individuals or small groups throughout Kent to see some of these unique winged wonders. I am the county dragonfly recorder for Kent for the British Dragonfly Society and have at least 15 years experience of watching and photographing the odonata around the UK. If it's a certain species you want to see or a particular site to visit, I can help plan out your day to maximise your success.
As well as helping to find the target species, I will be able to offer the key identification features needed to identify them and give photography tips, tricks and camera settings etc on how to photograph them. I also have a passion for identifying the nymphs and exuviae which may also be found on the tours.
Trips will start at 10am and finish around 4pm at a cost of £60 a day per person. This could be at one site or a few sites nearby.
