Playing With Fire and Snow!

I spent a few hours at Reculver this afternoon where I looked around the caravan bushes before walking down the seawall and inland to Chambers Wall before returning along the embankment. It was pretty cloudy throughout the session and occasional drizzle fell but it remained quite bright still. Birds noted were c50 Chiffchaff, they seemed to be everywhere. There were 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Blackcap, 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Grey Partridge, 11 Grey Heron with one flock of 9 flying west at sea, 1 Peregrine, 2 Great spotted Woodpecker, 4 Kestrel, 6 Stonechat and along the seawall I found the Snow Bunting and spent some time taking some more photographs. When a bird like this is so obliging its hard to just walk past, just a shame the sun was not out.

Snow Bunting

Continuing on I noted 2 Kingfisher, 27 Ringed Plover, 3 Oystercatcher, 10 Redshank, 1 Rock Pipit, 2 Reed Bunting, 2 Firecrest were at Chambers Wall with one even showing briefly for a rare pleasing photo of this species.

Firecrest

Walking back I saw 3 Sparrowhawk, 27 Golden Plover and 1 Goldcrest. I did pop out yesterday briefly and managed to hear the Yellow browed Warbler in the trees at the back of the caravan park. Hopefully a few more goodies in the next few days to come.
