After work tonight at 4.30pm I cycled down to Westbere Lakes in warm sunshine where I spent a couple of hours wandering around the footpaths towards Fordwich. Dragonflies and damselflies were everywhere and it was hard at times to know where to point the camera. I wanted to try to locate either a Four spotted or Broad bodied Chaser and see what photos I could get of this species. Walking down the paths I noted lots of Variable, Azure, Blue tailed, Large Red and Red eyed Damselflies while the river paths held lots of Banded Demoiselles, they seemed to be everywhere. There were c8 Hairy Dragonflies seen and after a while of searching I found 6 Scarce Chaser and 2 Broad bodied Chaser sunning themselves. The camera was soon into some action trying to capture the Chaser from a variety of angles and I ended up with a number of pleasing efforts with the macro lens. Not out tomorrow as the wife is on a course all day but hopefully a session in the sunshine on Sunday.
