Fun in the Sun!

I had planned to go out this morning but after waking up and listening to the strong wind outside, I did something I don't normally do, stayed in bed and went back to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and later during the day I went through some more photos from the past few sessions. A few weeks ago I had a few sessions where I tried to capture a Common Blue Damselfly roosting with the sun coming up in the background. With some planning and positioning I ended up with some of my favorite shots I have taken this year. I have posted a few more below of these memorable sessions.

During last weekend it was nice to see a few Emperor Dragonfly still on the wing. One looked like it was nearing the end of its season and bared the scars of a tough season, its wings ripped quite badly but hopefully its mission has been accomplished.

I suppose from here on in it will be photos of Common Darter, Migrant Hawker and Willow Emerald Damselflies. I probably won't get out this week, work getting in the way as usual but hopefully the weather will hold to the weekend for me to get out for some photography in the sun.

  2. Lovely backlit damsel shots! That Emperor still looks in pretty good nick compared to some I've seen lately.
