Fire out of the Fog!

After not really having much time out yesterday I was keen to get a 5 hour session in this morning so was up early and out of the house at 5.30am for what I hoped would be a bird filled session. The only problem was that the bloody fog decided to ruin most of the session by hanging around until about 9am, typical! I spent a very frustrating morning walking around Chambers Wall where there was a good arrival of warblers. Most of the bushes were alive with birds and during my walk I noted 1 probable Barred Warbler which I saw briefly in a bush but despite waiting and looking for it, it did not show again, c50 Blackap, 7 Lesser Whitethroat, c15 Whitethroat, 1 Whinchat, c10 Chiffhaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Hobby, c20 Yellow Wagtail, 7 Reed Warbler, 3 Sedge Warbler and Golden Plovers were heard in the fog. Also seen today were 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Redshank, c15 Long tailed Tit, 4 Goldcrest and 2 Firecrest with one showing quite well for some photos when the fog started to lift. What promised to be a good morning soon fizzled out and I can't help but feel that the Wryneck's and Red backed Shrikes were out there somewhere in the area to be found, maybe next weekend or during the week if i'm lucky!

Gorgeous photos of the Firecrest, one guy I have been after for quite a while to no avail: :(
