Waiting for the King!

Yesterday morning was spent at Grove Ferry where I wanted to try to photograph the Kingfisher which has been showing from the Feast hide at various times of the day. I have already put a few hours in with no luck and yesterday seemed to be going the same way until just after 11am the familiar sound of a Kingfisher could be heard nearby and then the post I have been staring at burst into colour. There are some birds you cannot tire of taking photos of and the Kingfisher certainly fits into this category. For about 10 mins the female bird showed well fishing from both posts and catching a few fish before moving off out of sight. I managed a few pleasing shots but still await 'that' shot. Hopefully I will be back during the week for some more!

  3. Never too long to have to wait for a Kingfisher to show Marc, and this is the perfect example of the rewards....a BRILLIANT five-some.

  6. Marc.
It was certainly worth the wait, beautiful shots, always nice to see a photo of a Kingfisher with a fish in it's bill.
