Big Butts on Show!

With the sun out and temperatures in the low twenties this afternoon, I had a drive over to Reculver after work where I had a look to see what Butterflies and Dragonflies were on the wing. There was plenty of action with hundreds of Common Blue Damselfly noted everywhere as I walked around, c20 Red eyed Damselfly flying low over the water, quite a few Blue tailed Damselfly and 4 Banded Demoiselle noted on the vegetation. A good showing of Butterflies were also seen including my first Painted Lady of the year and also noted were good numbers of 'Whites', 3 Holly Blue, 3 Red Admiral and 2 Small Tortoiseshell. A few birds were seen including 1 Marsh Harrier, 5 Tufted Duck, a family of Little Grebe feeding their young, 1 Kestrel and a few Swifts were noisily feeding overhead.

  1. First Painted lady of the year Marc, and it stayed around for a photo, they usually just keep going past when they turn up here! Nice lighting on the image though mate :-)

  3. The 'side on' Painted Lady is brilliant.

Wish I could think of some 'new' words to express myself with about your photography Marc.
