Sorting Through The Shots

With the forecast for heavy rain from mid morning I did not venture out today but this afternoon gave me the chance to sort through hundreds of photos I have taken in the past few weeks. With the rain pounding the windows I thought I would select a few I have taken recently to share. I would like to say a big thank you for all the comments recently about the Common Blue close up shots I took, they definitely spur me on to go out and get some more. I think they are certainly my photos of the year so far and I think I will be hard pushed to beat them. I always try to go out with a photo or two in my mind and in this case I have tried for a few months to get this opportunity and thankfully it came around in the end. It's a shame that with the colder weather soon to return the dragonfly season will soon be coming to an end but I can't wait until next year, not only to add some species I have never seen before but to photograph these wonderful insects. It's taken me a few years to appreciate them but they make for some excellent photography. Hopefully I will be able to get out in the week although the weather does not look good at the moment. I hope you enjoy the shots below.

  3. Such beautiful images. Love to shoot them but hard to find them near me.

  4. There is still some time left for the dragons. Given the right conditions a couple of species can stay on the wing until November. We had such a lousy summer i feel slightly robbed of them, especially up here in the north east.

  6. Amazing sharpness!
    These pictures are a wonder!
It is sad that the season is ending, now we will have to wait about 7 month for them to reappear!
    Cheers Marc!
