'Meet Your Neighbours Project' Continues

Another nice sunny day was spent mostly in the garden giving the grass its first cut but in between jobs I managed a brief tank session with the Brown Hawker nymph. I have spent a good while watching it lately in the tank hoping I might be able to see it in hunting mode and see those amazing jaws in action but as of yet, nothing. Perhaps they don't hunt that much in the colder months, I will continue to monitor. Using the 'Meet Your Neighbours Project' style with a complete white background, I took a few of this hawker and the results were not too bad. I can't believe how addictive this type of photography has been, I suppose the warm house with cups of tea and chocolate help! No doubt, back in the kitchen later working on my next batch of photos. It does seem so far I am getting the best results of an evening in the dark kitchen with the tank artificially lit. I may try the same type of photo below tonight for comparison.

  1. Do you cook the diiner while your monopolising the kitchen, it's been a beautiful day for being out and about birding.

    1. I wouldn't want my wife to think i'm stealing all the jobs at home. She is a bit better at cooking than I am!!!
