With odd bits of sunshine and cloud this evening I wasn't hopeful of seeing any butterflies but I thought I would pop into Shuart just in case an opportunity arose. I went to the large area of nettles that I photographed the Orange Tip the other day and the sun broke through just in time which made 4 Green veined White take to the wing for a few minutes. As the next lot of cloud passed over I tracked one of the Green veined Whites until it settled down with its wings shut. The light was not that good at all but I took a few shots and was quite pleased with the results. Again I was aware of the background colour and had to move up and down to achieve a nice contrast with the butterfly. Lets hope the sun shines in the next few days so I can go and photograph a few more species.
