Whilst at work yesterday (29th) I checked my phone mid morning to see a message from Chris Hindle alerting me that he had found a Stone Curlew at Reculver, a mega for the area and only the second record there. He had seen it a few times in flight and it seemed to be moving east along the coast. I managed a quick look later in the day but had no luck with the bird but did see 6 Yellow Wagtail with one bird showing nicely in the late sunshine where the camera was able to grab a few pleasing shots.

Other bits noted were 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Marsh Harrier, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap and 11 Corn Bunting with one allowing a shot before it flew off and rejoined the flock.

It was also pleasing to see my first male Orange Tip and Green veined White of the year. After getting in late from work tonight I had a brief walk at Reculver and noted 14 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe, 1 Blackcap, 4 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Ring necked Parakeet, 6 Swallow, 4 Whitethroat, 2 Marsh Harrier, 5 Skylark, 2 Grey Heron, 2 Reed Bunting, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Shoveler, 2 Kestrel, 1 Lesser Whitethroat and 2 Shelduck. There were 8 Oystercatcher, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Turnstone, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Green veined White was noted along with 1 Hare.
ooooooooh! Corn Bunting, now that would be something, to have one of those show up here :-)
