Penduline Tit at Stodmarsh

I managed to get out a couple times today to Stodmarsh where my target was the Penduline Tit. As I approached Stodmarsh a male Hen Harrier flew over the road. Stodmarsh held 8 Water Rail, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 8 Lesser Redpoll, c40 Siskin, 1 Woodcock, 1 Tawny Owl called, 2 Goldcrest and after a brief search the male Penduline Tit appeared and showed briefly for a few shots in the murky weather. I saw it again a few times thanks to its call but views were always brief. I then returned late afternoon where I could not find the Penduline Tit but I did have nice views of a Barn Owl as it hunted the fields. Other bits noted were 5 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Green Woodpecker, 2 Great spotted Woodpecker, c30 Redwing, a few Fieldfare, 1 Bullfinch, 3 Treecreeper, 10 Long tailed Tit and on the lake there were a few Pochard, Tufted Duck and Teal.

  3. I wonder how many of those hen harriers are about Marc, maybe one will investigate a bit further inland for me this year ;-)
