Back to Catch More Dragons!

I managed to grab an hour after work tonight and thought I would go over to Reculver to see what dragonflies and damselflies were on the wing. It won't be too long until their season is over until next year so Iv'e got to make the most of what is left this year. I seem to be getting addicted to this sort of photography and in some ways its better than photographing birds. I'm learning all the time about what settings to use and what backgound colours work well to make the subject stand out. On arrival the sun was shining and c5 Migrant Hawkers were flying around picking up small prey with every turn they made. A scan of the bushes revealed 3 more Migrant Hawkers basking in the sun and these made for a photo or two as they dangled from the branches.  Scanning the long grasses revealed 5 Common Blue damselfly and I waited until a few got into the position I was looking for and with a decent backround in which to contrast them against. After getting some shots I had a brief walk around noting c6 Common Darter and 1 Red Admiral and a few Small Whites. 1 Little Grebe was heard as was a Chiffchaff and 1 Common Buzzard flew over. Iv'e been checking every Migrant Hawker for a Southern Migrant Hawker but as of yet, no luck but who knows, maybe my luck will change.
