A Pleasant Stroll for Migrants

I was up and out of the house just before 6am this morning where I drove down to Reculver noting 1 Little Owl on the way before meeting Julian and Alex Perry where we spent a few hours walking down the seawall and inland to Chambers Wall before walking back checking bushes and pools. Birds we noted were 10 Sanderling, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Canada Goose flew west, 5 Pied Wagtail, 33 Redshank, 13 Meadow Pipit, 1 Snipe, 5 Oystercatcher, 1 Greylag Goose, 3 Turnstone, 2 Shelduck and between the busy workman on the beach who were still landscaping the shingle were 2 male Wheatear which gave me the opportunity to get the camera out and fire off a few shots.

Moving on we saw 4 Little Egret, 3 Skylark, 3 Ringed Plover, 7 Reed Bunting, c30 Linnet, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Yellowhammer and 1 Green Woodpecker. A quick look in Bishopstone did not reveal any butterflies but 2 Chiffchaff showed reasonably well so a quick drive inland produced 1 Little Grebe, 11 Tufted Duck, 2 Mistle Thrush and 2 Mute Swan. Not the hoped for Swallow or Sand Martin although they were seen a few miles along the coast but a nice morning always in anticipation of what might be around the next corner, maybe next time!

You have already managed to "catch" the Chiffchaff!
I saw a few but was unable to take pics!
I just love the delicate colors of the Wheateater!
    Congratulations on your photos, Marc!
