A Chambers Wall Session

I was out of the house this morning at 6am where I drove around the area looking and listening for Owls. There was a stiff breeze which did not really help out at all and despite stopping at a few likely areas I drew a blank with these. I then drove over to Chambers Wall where while sitting in the car in the growing light drinking coffee 1 Long eared Owl flew over the car. From the car I also had 1 Grey Partridge calling, 1 Skylark and 73 Cormorant flew over towards the sea. I then took a walk towards Coldharbour where the bushes were alive with Blackbirds and Redwings and a party of c30 Fieldfare were noted. 3 Goldcrest made the notebook on the way down and other birds noted were 1 Pied Wagtail, 23 Meadow Pipit, 1 Kestrel, 5 Mute Swan and checking the Waxwing bush provided no Waxwing as I passed by. Walking down to the sea produced 10 Redshank, 6 Grey Plover, 2 Curlew, 6 Oystercatcher, 2 Shelduck, 25 Teal, 2 Turnstone, 1 Gannet east, 1 Great crested Grebe on the sea, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Little Egret, 1 Brambling and walking back past the Waxwing tree produced 1 Waxwing happily tucked up. The light was pretty bad but you can't ignore a Waxwing ever when it comes to a photo. None really turned out worthy of publishing but this one just about made it past the committee. Later on when I had left a Sparrowhawk was seen to flush the Waxwing and I don't think it was seen again. With sun, sun and more sun tomorrow I'm really hoping the Waxwing hangs on. How I would love some photos in the sunshine of these. Here's hoping!
